Being such a new industry those working in virtual reality (VR) are learning everyday new ways to create and develop content. A lot of events outside of those dedicated to VR feature sessions where those involved spread their knowledge and experiences to help progress the medium as a whole. Now Topanga Film Institute & Innovation Lab is launching a VR production course which will take place next week.

Running from Wednesday 24th – Friday 26th February, the VR production course will feature award-winning TFI advisors, VR industry leaders, pioneers, creators and mentors from Vrse, XRez Studio, SkyVR, Gnomon School, and VR and cinematic innovation programs at UCLA and USC.

Over the intensive two day (with an optional third) course, attendees will learn storytelling in a 360-degree environment; how to film and direct; how to operate a 360-degree camera rig; stitching the immersive footage with professional tools; editing and post-production; 360-degree sound techniques and much more.

The course can be applied through www.topangafilminstitute.com with the two day version priced at $2,300.00 USD which is split over two payments. To attend all three days will cost $3,450.00 USD.

Based in Topanga, Los Angeles, California, the course is intended for professionals working in the creative field who wants to acquire skills in VR, whether you’re a film makers, actor, designer, director, media producer, animator or 3D artist. Those who do go will be awarded a VR Specialist Certificate outlining what they’ve learned.
