If your a fan of sci-fi movies you’ll likely have come across the series Divergent. It features Shailene Woodley as Tris Prior lives in a world where society is divided into five factions. As kids grow up they choose a faction and stick to it forever, but Prior finds out she’s Divergent and won’t fit a single faction. Now the series has got the virtual reality (VR) treatment with the recent arrival on Steam of The Divergent Series: Allegiant VR.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant VR is a 10-minute VR experience for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD), that follows Tris, Four (Theo James) & Caleb (Ansel Elgort), on a mission to prevent catastrophe and discover the true intentions of David and his Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

The immersive short was created as an experiment in VR story telling by Wevr Inc, an award winning production company that’s creating a new content portal named Wevr Transport, and Big Red Button Entertainment. Wevr’s CEO and coFounder Neville Spiteri said, “ This experience benefited greatly from the collaboration between Lionsgate and Wevr. It allowed us to create a near seamless transition between the world in the Allegiant film and what is experienced here. ”

The VR experience is free to download through Steam, and VRFocus will continue to bring you the latest VR projects from Wevr as they’re announced.
