Indie developer Legend Studio is continuing to keep gamers updated with its progress on virtual reality (VR) title A Legend of Luca, with a new gameplay video. The studio, known for Chibi Attack! VR only released its first demonstration at the end of January, with a second video explaining the room transitioning a couple of weeks ago.

The latest video reveal highlights the Room Scale tracking ability of the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). In the bottom right of the image you’ll see the test area Legend Studio has created to play A Legend of Luca. While the motion controllers and Room Scale tracking allow players to walk around a real area of up to 15 feet by 15 feet, having those movements replicated in-game, the system can be adjusted to suit the needs for an individual room.

A Legend of Luca is a first-person shooter (FPS) that’s been inspired by Nintendo’s popular The Legend of Zelda series. Shown in the gameplay video, players use the position tracked controllers to explore a dungeon, wielding a magical sword that has the ability to project lightning, which is great for breaking objects and defeating enemies. Previous videos have also shown a magical staff so players can duel wield the weapons, with the staff appearing to cast fire attacks.

VRFocus will continue to cover the latest progress of A Legend of Luca, reporting back with any further updates.
