Some of the best titles are very much tongue in cheek, with a mix of morbid reality with slapstick comedy. Coffin Dodgers does just that, and now there is a virtual reality (VR) demo available after releasing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as a regular title.

Coffin Dodgers is exactly what it implies by its name: the player chooses which OAP they would like to race as, and they must race for their lives before death itself catches up. Pretty heavy concept, but the gameplay is very much similar to the likes of Mario Kart, making it instantly family friendly and light hearted.

This title is a first person racer, and in this demo there is only the option to play a single track. “This single track demo allows the player to experience the fast paced kart racer in first person with this immersive VR experience. Take on the Grim Reaper and battle your opponents using a variety of homemade weapons and gadgets and get closer to the action than ever before.”

In a press release, the Milky Tea team shared its decision to move the title to VR: “After originally releasing the game on Steam and recently on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One we’ve had an overwhelming response from the community to push the game out in virtual reality – allowing the player to experience the fast paced kart racer in immersive first person.”

This demo is only available for the Oculus Rift, and the Milky Tea team are looking to expand the team to open up for more VR development, so there will be much more than just a single track to enjoy in time to come. The demo is currently free to download on Steam.
