Unimersiv an educational virtual reality (VR) content platform whose previous projects include VR Dinos, Where is the History Teacher? and Deep Space VR, has revealed its latest educational experience. Launching for Samsung’s Gear VR mobile virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) is Egyptian Mysteries, a title that aims to teach users about ancient Egypt.
Egyptian Mysteries is an investigation game in which players have to find out what happened to the hero’s brother that just disappeared. The quest will take them to the great Sphinx, inside the pyramid of Giza and to Ramses II. Alongside the main quest, Egyptian Mysteries also contains several mini-games including archery, which can be played using the Gear VR touch pad. As well as the Gear VR the experience will also be available for the Oculus Rift HMD.
The title is currently still under development, with Unimersiv not yet announcing a launch date. It’s also unclear if the videogame will be free or part of the company’s premium range.
The Samsung Gear VR consumer edition is due to launch this Friday 20th in the US, for $99 USD with an international release due shortly afterwards, although no date has yet been given. The headset has received a small number of improvements over the Innovator Edition, including being 19% lighter and a re-designed touch pad.
