Cloudhead Games’ The Gallery series is perhaps one of the most exciting virtual reality (VR) projects on the horizon right now. This is one of the first titles to truly embrace the HTC Vive and its Room Scale user-tracking, creating a full story-based adventure in which players will be able to walk around virtual areas for themselves and interact with objects in realistic ways using the SteamVR controllers. In a sense, the developer is tackling the very truest sense of VR, attempting to full transport a player’s body into another reality. VRFocus recently got the chance to chat to the team about its work.

In the interview below VRFocus speaks with Cloudhead Games Audio Director and Producer Joel Green about the project. We hear about the adventure’s mysterious story, the possibility of NPC interactions and the creation of the title’s Blink locomotion system. He also touches upon the confirmed ports for the title on both the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR, talking about how they might work.

VRFocus will continue to follow The Gallery: Call of the Starseed closely, reporting back with the latest updates on its progress.
