With the HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) finally set to arrive in April 2016, VR fans are enthusiastically speculating about what the kit’s launch line-up of videogames will look like. Creators Valve and HTC are yet to share any concrete details on that line-up, though we could well learn more about it during next week’s Valve Content Showcase in Seattle, Washington. That said, it looks as if one title has now been confirmed for the kit’s launch window in The Gallery from Cloudhead Games.

Studio CEO and Creative Director Denny Unger recently confirmed to the Vancouver Sun that the first part in this episodic adventure series, The Gallery: Call of the Starseed, will be launching in April too, though didn’t specifically state if that meant day and date with the HTC Vive’s shipping.

“We’re super lucky, really excited that the public is finally going to get a taste of this in April and we’re ecstatic that the world will finally understand that the rebirth of VR is really what it should be, it really works this time, it feels great and it is an exciting experience,” Unger said. Possible launch dates for the remaining episodes were not revealed.

The Gallery is a first-person experience that makes full use of the HTC Vive’s user tracking features, which are provided by Valve’s SteamVR system. As players search for their missing sister they’ll be able to walk around environments using Room Scale tracking and realistically interact with objects using the position tracked controllers. Following its launch on HTC Vive, the title will also be coming to the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR HMDs.
