Nuligine launched its all out combat racer, MadOut Open City on Steam in December 2015 just as a PC only title. This month the developer has released an update adding virtual reality (VR) support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).

MadOut Open City is a free-roaming open world where players can run around and explore at their leisure. But its not about wandering around on foot, its about getting a car customising it and then heading out on to the streets to cause some carnage.

The customisation options aren’t just about giving your motor a lick of paint, you’ll be able to add a variety of weaponry to your ride to cause some proper damage. Choose from over 20 different cars to upgrade with guns, rockets, mines and other offensive and defensive weapons, as you take on AI opponents. But beware as they can also fight back, so securing a lead isn’t as easy as just being the fastest.

To add to the fun MadOut Open City features destructible cars so that players can rip apart their enemies, turning them into a ball of twisted metal.

The studio does state in its Steam listing that the title is still in a beta stage, so there are likely to be a few bugs that still need ironing out.

You can buy MadOut Open City for £5.59 GBP, and for all the latest Steam news, keep reading VRFocus.
