Taking place today at Moscone West, San Francisco, California, is Sony Computer Entertainments (SCEs) PlayStation Experience. At the event which runs over the weekend, the keynote speech started with Shawn Layden President and CEO at SCE America (SCEA) saying that the show will feature the ‘most PlayStation VR content we’ve had at any show to date.’

The keynote which started with a trailer video showing a number of PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) titles, is expected to feature lots of new information for the head-mounted display (HMD), including reveals and more. The keynote is currently being streamed live from the US.

Fans of the PlayStation VR will be hoping for further announcements on the HMD, which is due to release in the first half of 2016. Will SCE give a more accurate date, maybe a price and possible launch title that could be available? The headset is the only device that will run at 120hz through re-projection and with the user base of the PlayStation 4 in the millions, and still growing the PlayStation VR may have an added benefit over rival headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive that need a powerful PC to run.

VRFocus will continue to bring you the latest announcements from the PlayStation Experience.
