Sam Macaroni a YouTube content creator who has created broad range of film parodies, has also delved into the world of virtual reality (VR) with several 360-degree video experiences. Past films include Wookie on Vacation and A Violent Afternoon. His latest is Junkbots, a fast and frantic sci-fi action video that’s just under a minute in duration.

In Junkbots Macaroni plays the lead role as a soldier who must stop an army of giant robots attacking a city. As the robots attack he comes in firing a laser pistol, blowing up each enemy in turn.

As with all of Macaroni’s 360-degree videos there’s a number of ways viewers can enjoy the experience. Via PC you can watch Junkbots on YouTube with a compatible browser, controlling the film with the WASD keys or with your mouse. On smartphones its even better as through the YouTube app you’ll be able to use a Google Cardboard or similar head-mounted display (HMD). But for lots of dedicated VR content in one place there’s the Jaunt VR app, which can be downloaded for free, and its also available for Samsung’s Gear VR headset.

VRFocus will continue to cover Sam Macaroni’s VR work, reporting back any new releases.
