British developer Tammeka Games has had its virtual reality (VR) title Radial-G: Racing Revolved on Steam’s Early Access for one year today. While many VR fans were expecting the title to have fully launched by now, the studio has been holding off for various reasons. Those reasons have now been shared in a State of the Union update post on the platform, and includes among other things the news that Radial-G: Racing Revolved will be ready for Oculus Rift’s launch date, expected in Q1 2016.

In the announcement Tammeka Games said: “We’ve always said from the start that the game was designed for VR from the ground up and we feel it is a fantastic example of what can be achieved with VR for gaming. So we focused on that, rather than releasing early when only a small percentage of you had DK2s, compared to the wider potential audience once the Oculus Rift is commercially released. Similarly for marketing, reviews and coverage, we are waiting until VR and Oculus is ready, in order to be accepted as a VR game that anyone can play, not just the early adopters and VRardcore.”

The developer has also revealed Steam users who have supported the title on Early Access will be given Oculus store keycodes to activate the game there instead if they want.

Multiplayer servers for Radial-G: Racing Revolved will remain in the cloud which should allow players for all the different versions of the videogame, no matter which platform to be able to play against each other.

VRFocus will continue to follow the latest updates to Radial-G: Racing Revolved, as Tammeka Games release further information.
