Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) PlayStation VR technical demonstration, The London Heist, was confirmed to be part of a package of virtual reality (VR) experiences, PlayStation VR Worlds, set to release alongside the head-mounted display (HMD) back at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March of this year. Now, PlayStation’s UK community team, PlayStation Access, has revealed a full playthrough of one of the two components from The London Heist seen thus far.

The first instance of gameplay from The London Heist showcased on PlayStation VR, ‘Interrogation’, sees the player tied to a chair unable to respond as a large, unwelcoming brute tries his best to intimidate them. A flashback then takes the player to a stationary first-person shooter (FPS) sequence in which they are taking charge of the titular heist.

The second gameplay sequence shown from The London Heist thus far involves a high-speed chase along a busy London road. The brute from the first sequence is your driver as you arm yourself and take out assailants in vans and on motorbikes. It’s this sequence that can be seen in the video below.

This second sequence, ‘Getaway’, has featured in VRFocus’ regular feature series, ‘VR Moments’, as the moment of respite lulls you into a false sense of security and the belief that you are, in fact, a key player within this virtual world.
