Yesterday saw some big updates for RIGS: Mechanised Combat League, the upcoming virtual reality (VR) first-person shooter (FPS) from Guerrilla Cambridge. The developer revealed a brand new map for the multiplayer title, which is on its way to the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD). Set in Dubai, this new level is playable at Paris Games Week (PGW) in France this week, and a trailer showing it off can also be seen online. But that’s not the only new video for the title to surface this week; Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has just released another that focuses on ‘How to make a VR shooter’.

Said video can now be seen below. It features members of the Guerrilla Cambridge team including Director Piers Jackson, Art Director Tom Jones and Lead Director Gareth Hughes. They explain the basic setup for RIGS: Mechanised Combat League and how VR shapes the experience. There’s another look at the new level, an explanation of the Power Slam mode and, of course, there’s also plenty of new clips of gameplay.

RIGS: Mechanised Combat League doesn’t have a release date just yet, although the PlayStation VR kit itself is expected in the first half of 2016. VRFocus will continue to follow both the title and the HMD, reporting back with the latest updates on both.
