Today Microsoft is hosting its annual Build developer conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. As VRFocus reported yesterday the company will be holding its keynote at 08:30 PT which will be live-streamed on Channel 9 should you wish to watch. There’s been speculation on what maybe announced, but recently Kudo Tsunoda Corporate Vice President at Microsoft teased there will be surprises in store.

Taking to his Twitter account yesterday Tsunoda wrote: “Getting ready for #Build2016 . Stay tuned for a week’s worth of surprises!! #Windows10 #HoloLens.”

Obviously no further details have yet been mentioned on what the surprises relating to HoloLens maybe. It’s likely new software will be revealed, details on the number of developers working with the device, or a possible long shot could be a timeline for a consumer version.

The HoloLens mixed-reality head-mounted display (HMD) is now available for developers to order for $3000 USD, as long as they’re based in the US or Canada. The device begins shipping today to studios that have pre-ordered. There’s been no confirmation on when international shipping will begin. Several apps will be included with the HMD including: HoloStudio, Actiongram Beta, Roboraid, Young Conker and Fragments.

VRFocus will be following the events from Build 2016, reporting back with any new announcements.
