Whilst teases continue to occur little is still known about what mixed reality company Magic Leap Inc has planned. However, one thing that is certain is that it continues to develop its business plans. Now following very successful fundraising round and increased company value it has followed up with the reported acquisition of NorthBit.

The Israeli firm is known for creating software that relates to cybersecurity – their most recent claim to fame being a demonstration of breaking into the Android operating system using Stagefright. Other services and tasks performed by the company include optimisation of memory and processing systems and ‘computer forensics’.

How this will pan into the final presentation of Magic Leaps’ services, beyond the obvious providing of security, remains to be seen but it is another bold move for the company. An interesting one too bearing in mind that one of the recent backers is Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc, the ultimate owners of the Android system.

VRFocus will bring you more information on Magic Leaps’s activities as we get it.
