Job Simulator Dev’s ‘Designing for Room-Scale VR’ Unite Talk Now Online

As one of the very first developers to work on the HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), Owlchemy Labs has become something of an ambassador for the device and its unique features. In fact, the studio is so familiar with the kit and the SteamVR system that supports it that it recently hosted a talk on ‘Designing for Room-Scale VR’ at Unity Technologies’ Unite 2015 developer event. Said talk has now been released online for all to see.

An hour’s worth of VR hints and tips are shared here by Owlchemy Labs CEO and Chief Scientist Alex Schwartz and CTO Devin Reimer.

Owlchemy Labs is of course working on Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives for the HTC Vive as well as the Oculus Rift, the latter version of which was confirmed last month and will support the Oculus Touch controllers. The first-person experience is set in a world in which robots take care of all jobs and have created a literal job simulator to keep humans entertained.

VRFocus will continue to follow Owlchemy Labs’ work in VR, reporting back with the latest updates from the developer.
