Over the past few years cinematic virtual reality (VR) company Jaunt has been providing plenty of 360 degree content for viewing inside head-mounted displays (HMDs) such as the Oculus Rift, Gear VR, and Google Cardboard. The company has grown over time, opening new studios, developing its own camera and even launching its own dedicated app holding a wide array of content. That app has been available on smartphones for some time now, but has recently been spotted over on Steam, confirming several new details.

Crucially, the app’s Steam listing reveals that it’s coming to both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. This will be one of the first 360 degree content platforms for the latter device, which has mainly focused on VR videogames up until now. The app will become available in April 2016, suggesting that it will be ready a short while after the launch of the Oculus Rift, which hits today, and at some point around the arrival of the HTC Vive, which is due to start shipping on 5th April.

Interestingly, the app is also set to support ‘tracked motion controllers’, likely referring to those that arrive with the HTC Vive. It’s possible, then, that these will be used for menu selection and navigation rather than any kind of interaction within videos themselves. Though not confirmed, you can expect the app to be free given that it is on smartphones. Inside, you can enjoy videos from Paul McCartney, Jack White and more.
