Earlier this month VRFocus reported on Steel Media in association with China’s DeePoon launching a virtual reality (VR) competition called, Global VR Challenge. At the time a panel of judges had reduced the 80 entries received down to a long list of 20. Then last week those 20 went through another round of judging to decide the 10 finalists to go through to the grand final in Shanghai, China. Those finalists have now been revealed.

The 10 finalists heading to China and looking to win part of the $35,000 USD prize pool are:

Wrath of Loki-Vr Adventure by The House of Fables

Kittypocalypse by Bolverk VR Games

Reflections by Broken Window Studios

The Town Of Light by LKA

The Body VR by The Body VR LLC

QUBE 2 by Toxic Games

Lightblade VR by Andreas Hager Gaming

The last round of judging featured Resolution Games’s Tommy Palm, nDreams’s Patrick O’Luanaigh, ex-ARM developer outreach director Nizar Romdhane, DeePoon’s Leon Zhang, ustwo’s Peter Pashley plus Steel Media’s Craig Chapple and Simon Aubrey Drake.

The developers will be heading to the ChinaJoy event which takes place at the end of this week. On Friday 29th July 2016 there’ll be a special ceremony held on the show floor to announce the winner.
