Last month VRFocus reported on a videogame called Pluto, created by development duo Andy Campbell and Mez Breeze. Today the team has celebrated the end of their closed BETA by announcing a new title for their project, All The Delicate Duplicates, and revealing the very first trailer.

All The Delicate Duplicates is about a computer engineer, John, and his daughter Charlotte. After inheriting a collection of weird objects from a mysterious relative, that neither of them can remember, the pair start to believe that the objects might be transforming their realities and memories, and begin to piece together the disturbing truth behind ‘Aunt Mo’.

“During the 1990s Mez pioneered her own poetic language that she calls Mezangelle, and this forms a central part of All The Delicate Duplicates,” said  Campbell. “Mezangelle is based on hybrid words. It remixes the basic structure of English and computer code to create language where meanings are nested inside each other; packed. You have to read; then re-read; then re-re-read.”

“Andy and I have been creating digital literature / arts projects for over 20 years, so we’ve been around a long time and have seen a lot of technological change,” said Breeze. “Since the 1990s both Andy and I have created multiple media-rich, and often collaborative, works of ‘digital fiction’ – fictional stories that are interactive, non-linear, and sometimes involve film or gameplay, but generally always involve a reading element.”

“The feedback we got from our closed BETA led us to thinking about the title for this project, and how people were engaging with it,” continued Breeze. “We’re now pleased to present the newly christened All The Delicate Duplicates, and will be announcing the public BETA very soon.”

The title will launch later this year for PC and Mac, with a virtual reality (VR) release planned for 2017. VRFocus will continue its coverage of All The Delicate Duplicates, reporting back with any further updates.
