Today Emmy Award-winning virtual reality (VR) production studio Felix & Paul has announced that Anil Pereira, a Silicon Valley veteran who has spent the last two years as an advisor to the company will now join the board of directors.
Pereira currently serves as a senior advisor to a number of high-profile startups including Blueshift, Loto Labs, Performance Horizon, RecargaPay, Testimonial Tree, Tynker and the AGILITY Innovation Program at the University of Lethbridge. He also founded Verious, which makes source code and components for mobile apps and DataSphere, a company providing businesses with programs to connect with customers.
“Anil has been a trusted advisor and partner since the early days of our studio and has been instrumental in helping us set strategy, develop partnerships and build our brand during this formative period,” said Félix Lajeunesse, co-founder, artistic director and board member at Felix & Paul Studios. “His wide breadth of experience and deep understanding of consumer marketing, partnership development and global revenue generation will prove invaluable to us in the boardroom as we move into our next phase of growth.”
The Montreal, Canada-based company won a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Interactive Media – Original Daytime Program or Series category back in March for Inside the Box of Kurios. The film is a 9-minute experience immersing the user into Cirque du Soleil’s touring show KURIOS Cabinet of Curiosities putting the viewer right on stage.
The studio has created a broad selection of immersive content including: Jurassic World: Apatosaurus, Nomads: Sea Gypsies, Wild: The Experience and Inside Impact: East Africa. The latter followed President Clinton and Chelsea Clinton on their trip to East Africa, from modern downtown Nairobi to Kibera. Inside Impact: East Africa was also nominated in the same Emmy category.
