At the recent Oculus Connect 2 developers conference in Los Angeles, California in September numerous videogames were announced by Oculus VR for its joint project with Samsung, Gear VR. Amongst all the big announcements for the virtual reality (VR) mobile head-mounted display (HMD) was a videogame reveal for Evil Robot Traffic Jam, the first title that would be shipped by indie developer Element Games. The company has now revealed to VRFocus the launch date for the VR title will be Thursday 10th December 2015.

Evil Robot Traffic Jam is a tower defence videogame where dastardly robots have begun creating traffic jams across the world and it’s down to you stop them. The title at launch will feature seven playable maps with a variety of weapons to choose from and various enemies to dispose of. Weapons such as explosive missile towers, hazardous frost towers and destructive rail guns are just a few of the items at your disposal.

There will be progression system where medals give the player attributes such as extra starting cash, for harder levels. These attributes can also be used on previously cleared maps. Each map features an endless version, allowing players to try to beat their high scores.

Evil Robot Traffic Jam has been designed from the ground up for VR, making it feel comfortable to play. While the title has been designed to be accessible to inexperienced gamers, Element Games has said it’s added enough depth and difficulty for the most seasoned gamer to enjoy.

VRFocus will continue to report on the latest developments to Evil Robot Traffic Jam as the title nears launch.
