We reported in April that EVE: Valkyrie would be getting a new gameplay mode called Carrier Assault after it was announced by CCP Games at EVE fanfest, but now it’s been given a release date: June 20 2016.

Carrier Assault is a new gameplay mode that will be added to the existing framework of EVE: Valkyrie as part of its first major free update since its release that will also include new features, balancing changes, and bug fixes though no greater details on what these are was provided.

In Carrier Assault players will be able to target carrier ships with their teams for the first time, a challenge that will involve overcoming their complicated defence systems, sure to be a difficult challenge. In its announcement of the update release, CCP said:”In Carrier Assault we are delivering that hallowed trench run moment that has been etched into the minds of many a Sci-Fi fan. The video footage might look exciting, but nothing gets the pulse going like flying into the belly of the beast for the first time in VR.”
