Mobile manufacturer OnePlus has announced that it’s partnering with Uber to give customers in India a free OnePlus Loop virtual reality (VR) headset when they order it through the Uber app.

Reported by India Live Today, the partnership is all part of the lead up to the launch of the OnePlus 3 handset on June 14 in India and other countries. To watch the launch live and place an order for the flagship as it’s unveiled in what the company is calling the world’s first VR shopping experience, customers will need to have a VR headset such as the Loop VR. Prior to this, OnePlus has held two flash sales in India for people to get their hands on the Loop VR and according to OnePlus India GM, Vikas Agarwal,  this is their response to requests for more:

“The OnePlus fan community is very important to us and we are thankful to them for their continued love and support. As we have received several requests to offer more OnePlus Loop VR Headsets to experience the OnePlus 3 launch in VR, we are partnering with Uber to give our fans a last minute opportunity to get their hands on VR Headsets right at their doorsteps within minutes of booking.”

The delivery service is taking place on June 14 from 3pm in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai and Chandigarh to give customers enough time to request their headset before the big launch that evening at 10pm.
