At the recent PlayStation Experience in San Francisco, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) showcased a new build of Evolution Studios racer Driveclub. The title is still in an experimental form for the PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) for PlayStation 4 and attendees got to try a single track with one available car, all from an in car view. Now the studio has released a teasing 360-degree video entirely recorded from the front of a Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupé.

The 360-degree video is the first from Evolution Studios, and sees the Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupé racing round a selection of tracks, from snow capped mountain courses and forest regions to sunny arid desert settings. The video shows off the graphical quality of Driveclub, almost looking photo-realistic in places.

The 360-degree VR video can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone via the YouTube app. For those that own a Google Cardboard or similar headset you can view the video through the YouTube app for a more immersive experience.

With Driveclub still being touted as an experimental title there’s been no official confirmation a full version will be coming to PlayStation VR. But with SCE also revealing Gran Turismo Sport would be supporting the headset, fans may see this new video as further intentions by the developer to support VR.

VRFocus will continue to follow the latest news on Driveclub closely, reporting back any VR announcements.
