Between the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMDs), the Vive is the tougher of the two to setup due to its Room Scale tracking feature. This requires the two Lighthouse base stations to be setup at the appropriate height and angle, enabling them to detect the positional tracked controllers and headset. If all that seems a bit too much then HTC has revealed a new specialist installation service for selected cities in the US.
HTC Vive owners can head to the HTC Vive website, enter their zip code and find out if their city is one those that’s applicable. If your city is, then you can purchase the specialist setup for $250 USD. You’ll then receive an email within a couple of working days to schedule the installation, and confirm your play area and computer are prepared for the service.
The engineer will then come out determine an optimal room setup, mount the base stations, connect all components to your computer and complete the software setup process, with cables kept neat and tidy.

The HTC Vive launched pre-orders back in late February 2016 for $799 and the headset officially arrived in early April, although since then there has been delivery issues with customers still waiting to receive their products.
