In August the VRLA will be holding its annual summer expo at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. This year will be the biggest yet as the event will now be taking place over two days rather than the usual one. Dedicated to virtual reality (VR), the show features a strong line-up of exhibitors, and now 15 more have been announced.
Heading to the VRLA Summer Expo 2016 will be Dolby Laboratories, Unity Technologies, uSens, High Fidelity, Dodocase, Cognitive VR, Mirada, Section Studios, Vuzix, Bit Planet Games, Sennheiser, VR Kix, FLARB, Accessfuel and Experience 360°.
Previously announced exhibitors include: Radeon Technologies Group, Virtually Live, Otoy, Evox Images, Xsens, Unofficial Cardboard, Kodak, Smart Theatre, VRCrental, Summit.Live, ShapeSpaceVR, Splendid 4D Studio and Matthews Studio Equipment.
Visitors to the show will be able to demo Bit Plant Games’ new title ULTRAWINGS, an open-world, aerial-themed videogame created in Unity, supporting Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch. Audio specialist Sennheiser will be demonstrating its AMBEO VR Mic that can capture ambience and directivity, then reproduce the sound via standard binaural headphones. The company will also demonstrate content produced with the mic via a Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD).
On the mixed reality (MR) side FLARB will be debuting its Microsoft HoloLens videogame Ether Wars, alongside showcasing work from partner studios. And Mirada will be showcasing several of their seven VR experiences for Cardboard, GearVR and Oculus Rift.
The VRLA Summer Expo 2016 takes place between 5th – 6th August, with tickets starting from $30 USD for a one day student pass, while a standard single day pass costs $40. Both of these are for Saturday 6th. The two day pass is designed more for professionals, allowing access to Friday. These are retailing for $299 and the first 300 buyers will receive a VR gift bag.
