For the last press conference taking place before the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) opens tomorrow, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has been revealing its virtual reality (VR) plans for its upcoming head-mounted display (HMD), PlayStation VR. Several well known franchises featured at the event and more videogames have been revealed to be demoable on the E3 show floor. One of which is Robinson: The Journey by Crytek.

The developer first revealed Robinson: The Journey back in June 2015, then confirming in October that year the project would be a PlayStation VR exclusive. Since then two tech demos in the Back to Dinosaur Island series on Oculus Rift have been released, with the demos actually forming the foundations for Robinson: The Journey, which also features prehistoric beasts.

No release date details have yet been revealed, but with SIE announcing the US launch for PlayStation VR would occur on 13th, October 2016, E3 may see a few more announcements regarding software for the device.

E3 is set to feature 40 PlayStation VR demo stations with a wide assortment of videogames available to demo. Those include Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, Final Fantasy XV: VR ExperienceFarpointBatman: Arkham VR, 100ft Robot Golf, Psychonauts in the Rhumbus of RuinBound, Rez InfiniteEVE: ValkyrieHarmonix Music VRHeadmasterSuper HypercubeThumper, Battlezone, and Wayward Sky, with some on the show fllor and other in a VIP area.

And many of these are likely to appear this year as Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studio, who hosted the press conference said: “Currently more than 50 games will be available from launch until the end of this year.” SIE hasn’t yet confirmed what titles will be available on launch day, but some developers like Battlezones’s Rebellion already stating as such.
