The virtual reality (VR) industry is currently looking forward to this month’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) and Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC) to hear the latest updates on the technology, but there’s plenty to look forward to in April 2016, too. Most notably, the VR World Congress will be taking place in Bristol, UK on 12th April, with a host of speakers and sponsors already announced. A number of other companies are joining the event today, including Crysis developer, Crytek.

Crytek has come on board as a Gold sponsor for VRWC. The company will be at the event with a demo of its upcoming Oculus Rift exclusive, The Climb, which takes players on a VR rock climbing trip. This marks the first playable session for the title in the UK, and it will be on display with the Oculus Touch position tracked controllers. Elsewhere, War of Words VR developer BDH will be at the event as will immersive storytelling company NSC Creative.

There are also two new speakers, the first of which being Thomas Bible. Bible worked as the lead audio designer on Henry, one of the first VR feature films from Oculus VR’s own team, Oculus Story Studio. He’s also currently working on the recently-revealed Dear Angelica, and will be talking about both experiences at the event. Joining him is Eric W. Shamlin from The Secret Location, who is working on a range of VR experiences such as The Sleepy Hollow experience for the Oculus Rift. Blue GFX is also now a bronze sponsor for the event.

Tickets to VRWC are on sale now. Stay tuned to VRFocus for the latest on the event.
