Virtual reality (VR) expos, events and shows are taking place all across countries like the USA and UK, but what about Canada? A handful of events are held throughout the year, but Archiact has recently announced what it hopes will be a major show to take place this May. The company will be hosting the Consumer VR conference (CVR) at the Convention Centre in Vancouver on 14th May 2016. The show will offer attendees the chance to go hands-on with major head-mounted displays (HMDs) such as the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Gear VR.

Confirmed exhibitors for the event so far include Futuretown, the developer of upcoming launch experiences for the HTC Vive such as Cloudlands: VR Minigolf and Jeeboman. There’s also Merge, the mobile-based HMD, Explorers Incorporated studio Paper Crane Games, and VRCade to name a few. So far there are a planned 12 titles for the HTC Vive running on three stations, over 30 Oculus Rift titles running on 60 stations, 20 Gear VR titles running on 10 stations and four VR Arcade titles running two stations. Google Cardboard will also be on display. A number of speakers are also being lined up for the show.

General admission Early Bird tickets for CVR are available now until 24th February for $25 CAD, though VRFocus readers can get a further discount. Enter the code VRFOCUSATCVR before Early Bird sales come to a halt to get $5 off of your ticket. Full general admission will then be set at $75. A full conference pass costs $150, though an Early Bird offer of $100 is also available.
