Studio Wildcard continues to provide consistent and meaningful updates to the pre-release version of its virtual reality (VR) compatible survival title, ARK: Survival Evolved. Along with new features for players to enjoy, the developer also keeps adding brand new dinosaurs for them to encounter, tame and utilise. This week the studio is revealing one of the biggest beasts to grace the game yet in the Giganotosaurus. A video of the new monster can currently be seen below.

The Giganotosaurus may live up to its name, but Studio Wildcard notes that the beast is sometimes less dangerous than expected thanks to its slow speed. That said, taming the creature is still a daunting task. The trailer below shows just how much bigger the beast is both in comparison to other dinosaurs and to players themselves.

The early access version of ARK: Survival Evolved currently supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), though Studio Wildcard does seem to be planning support for the HTC Vive too. The full version of the title will be arriving in June 2016 along with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. The latter will support the PlayStation VR HMD.

VRFocus will continue to follow ARK: Survival Evolved closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the title’s progress.
