Studio Wildcard the developer behind virtual reality (VR) compatible title ARK: Survival Evolved has revealed the first explorer note in the videogame has been uncovered as well as new updates.

Announcing on its community forum the team said: “We’re excited to reveal the first of many Explorer Notes to be uncovered whilst living on the island and over the coming few weeks, the ‘Explorer Note System’ will be finding its way onto the ARK itself. You’ll be able to discover the stories of actual inhabitants that have lived on the isle, and follow what their fates are over time*. By studying their notes, learning through their experiences, and revealing the secrets they have discovered, you will be able to get closer to the heart of the mysteries surrounding the ARK.”

The studio will also stop revealing any new dinosaur dossiers for the next few weeks as it catches up will implementing the backlog that has occurred.

A new update is also expected to be landing tomorrow for version 236. Patch details include: a new creature – Giant Beaver; new equipment – Handcuffs; first 3 Bosses and boss arenas; snow and swamp caves and ~10% rendering performance improvements among others.
