VTRGO, a UK-based virtual reality (VR) expo and conference, is fast approaching. The event will be taking place on 12th November 2015 in Newcastle Gateshead at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. The show is set to see a number of VR studios, companies, figureheads and more gather under one roof to talk about the upcoming tech. Today, the organisers behind the event have confirmed that tech company ARM will be at the show as the networking sponsor as well as exhibiting at the event.

In terms of exhibiting, ARM’s processor will be seen inside the Samsung Galaxy S6, the phone powering Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) units. The company will show its Ice Cave demo at the show and will be on-site to field any questions that developers might have. Samsung itself will have consumer versions of the device on display at the event.

“We are looking forward to attending VRTGO for the first time where we will be showing the cutting edge capabilities of our Mali graphics technology through demos including our Ice Cave VR demo,” said Nizar Romdhane, director of developer ecosystem, business line group, ARM. “The virtual reality version of the Ice Cave demo for Samsung Gear VR highlights a number of highly optimized rendering effects Mali graphics enables, such as reflection, refraction, soft shadows, procedural skybox, and bloom that allow the user to enjoy an amazing VR experience.”

VRFocus will follow VRTGO closely, reporting back with the latest updates on its progress.
