Canadian shopping centre Dixie Outlet Mall has announced the creation of a virtual reality (VR) adventure lounge for shoppers to take a break and enjoy some immersive experiences.
Made in partnership with Samsung the VR Adventure Lounge will feature the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) with a curated selection of experiences by Dixie Outlet Mall. Each week, there will be a new themed VR offering from exploring the deep oceans to cruising through jungle safaris. Alongside the latest VR tech the lounge will also include and interactive gaming alongside complimentary WiFi, snacks and beverages.
“We are very excited to introduce this innovative and interactive technology to our customers,” says Cristina Avila, Marketing Director at Dixie Outlet Mall. “This back-to-school lounge is like nothing we’ve ever done before. Our shoppers’ needs are evolving and they’re looking for a more dynamic and well-rounded shopping experience. Our goal with the VR Adventure Lounge is to create an exhilarating atmosphere that complements the feeling of scoring incredible outlet deals.”
The VR Adventure Lounge will be available through the school holidays, from 12th August until 4th September 2016. And as an added bonus all lounge guests are automatically entered into a draw for a chance to win a $500 CAD Back-to-School shopping spree courtesy of Dixie Outlet Mall.
The lounge opening hours are:
Mon-Thurs: 4:00pm-8:00pm
Fri: 12:00pm-6:00pm
Sat: 11:00am-5:00pm
Sun: 12:00pm-4:00pm
