It was last month that Oculus revealed the dates of the Oculus Connect 3 event that will be taking place in the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, California, which will be 5th-7th October 2016. Now you will be able to apply to attend the event, and there is a while lot more to know about it.
Applications are now open, and the event details are more clearly set out. On the first day, John Carmack, CTO of Oculus, will give live app reviews, and there will also be demos, sessions, panels, and talks (which will carry on throughout the event), followed by a welcome reception. On the second day, there will be the morning Keynote as well as evening event, and the third day also has a morning keynote, followed by sessions and workshops.
There will be five content tracks, including Social, Design, Development, Business, and Experiences.
The website recounts what the last Oculus Connect event presented, and what will be expected of this one – in a very vague sense, of course. “At last year’s Connect, 1,500 developers attended engineering and design sessions, showcased their projects, connected with fellow developers, and experienced a lineup of new content on Rift, Touch, and Gear VR. At Connect you will see how VR has transformed gaming, storytelling, film, communication, and more thanks to the incredible work of the community.”
Applications are currently open, and they will close by 11:59 PDT on 19th August, so apply now to definitely get your application in to be considered. Once they have been evaluated by the end of August, those who receive registration by 9th September will have early bird tickets priced at $199 (USD) for standard passes, and $99 for a student pass, which remains the same for regular and onsite admission too. Regular passes will be $299 from 10th September to 1st October, and Onsite passes will also be $299.
