Estudiofuture the Spanish studio behind Samsung Gear VR title Tarraco VR has now announced its latest virtual reality (VR) project. Coming to both Gear VR and Oculus Rift head-mounted displays (HMDs) will be Fusion Wars, a multiplayer combat title.

Supporting cross platform gameplay between the two headsets, Fusion Wars is a sci-fi shooter pitting up to 16 players in combat. You can choose to fight head-to-head in an all out brawl or play together in teams. It’s when working together that Fusion Wars core mechanic comes into play. Team mates can fuse their ships together, thus enabling co-op gameplay granting special abilities to gain the advantage in battle. A varied array of weapons will spawn around the battlefields in strategic spots, and combat pilots will need to rearm with more powerful arsenals as the matches progress.

Estudiofuture has released the first screenshots for Fusion Wars, and will provide further details at this weeks Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, California. Fusion Wars is scheduled to launch simultaneously on Gear VR and Oculus Rift this summer, so that owners of either HMD can join in battle together.

With VRFocus at E3 all week, we’ll bring you the latest VR news from the world’s largest videogames event.
