For the past few years indie developer White Lotus Interactive has been working on an anticipated virtual reality (VR) adventure named XING: The Land Beyond. The team raised some $30,100 USD to bring the title to PC via a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign back in 2013, also meeting a stretch goal to include support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). While work on this version of the videogame continues, White Lotus Interactive has also announced a PlayStation 4 version this week, and it looks like support for the PlayStation VR HMD could also be included.

The developer has confirmed that it is ‘looking into’ support for the upcoming device. Responding to comments made on the PlayStation Blog post in which the console port was announced, the developer’s Koriel Kruer noted: “We are definitely looking into PSVR, as it seems like it would be a great fit for our game.” The PC version of the title is expected to release in spring 2016, and it appears that the developer is also planning to get the console version out next year too. XING: The Land Beyond will also be heading to Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE’s) PlayStation Experience fan event in San Francisco next month, where it will be playable on PlayStation 4 for the first time.

XING: The Land Beyond is a first-person experience set in an afterlife that resembles an island paradise. Players will explore beaches and forests as they solve puzzles and uncover more of the title’s story. VRFocus recently went hands on with it at PAX 2015 and came away impressed with the quality it provided on an older version of the Oculus Rift HMD, boding well for how it will perform on consumer-ready devices. An interview with White Lotus Interactive itself is also available.

VRFocus will continue to follow XING: The Land Beyond closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the title’s progress.
