At the end of January Valve held the Steam VR Developer Showcase. The one day event brought press and developers together to highlight and demonstrate the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) and 12 virtual reality (VR) experiences that would be heading to the device. Valve’s Chet Faliszek also sat down with the developers from each of the titles included in the showcase, and the videos from those sessions are now live.

The discussions were focused on the studios experiences creating VR videogames, the challenges faced and what they’ve all now learned going through the process. The first video features Justin Liebregts from FutureTown (Cloudlands Minigolf), Andy Moore from Northway Games (Fantastic Contraption), Dylan Fitterer (Audioshield), Richard Stitselaar from Vertigo Games (Arizona Sunshine), Dave Walsh from Frontier Developments (Elite Dangerous) and Joachim Holmér from Neat Corporation (Budget Cuts).

While the second video features Alex Schwartz from Owlchemy Labs (Job Simulator), John Nagel from Phaser Lock Interactive (Final Approach), Dirk Van Welden from I-Illusions (Space Pirate Trainer), Patrick Hackett from Google (Tilt Brush), Denny Unger from Cloudhead Games (The Gallery) and Alex Knoll from Stress Level Zero (Hover Junkers).

VRFocus will continue its coverage of the HTC Vive and the titles available for it.
