Three Canadian VR Films to Share Spotlight at MIPTV Event

    Taking place in Cannes, France between 4th – 7th April is MIPTV, a leading television and digital content market. Being shown at the event are three Canadian virtual reality (VR) productions, Liquid CinemaTime Machine VR and The Unknown Photographer.

    Thanks to an initiative spearheaded by the Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Telefilm Canada, Canadian VR producers will have the opportunity to share their expertise and showcase their quality productions to over 10,000 international media industry leaders.

    Developed by Deep Inc., Liquid Cinema is a piece of software that aims to transform a users film experience, so that going to the movies becomes going into the movies. While Time Machine VR is part film, part videogame where players must travel back through time from 2033 to help save the human race. A plague is consuming mankind and your goal is to collect the biological data from creatures in the Jurassic era to unlock the key to saving the humanity.

    The Unknown Photographer in an immersive documentary that journeys into the heart of the First World War through hundreds of photographs that were found in the abandoned workshop of a country house in Quebec.
