Californian virtual reality (VR) specialist studio Survios quickly became a team of note back in 2013 with their technical demonstration, Zombies on the Holodeck, and have since been a keenly followed developer by early adopters. The official debut consumer title from Survios, Raw Data, is set to make its way onto the HTC Vive later this week, and VRFocus met with the team for a hands-on test and an interview.

Speaking to VRFocus, Matt Liszt, VP or Marketing at Survios, presents an introduction to the videogame, its story and the co-operative action that players will have on offer. Furthermore, Liszt discusses the possibility of multi-format releases – Raw Data will make its debut on the HTC Vive thanks to it being the only consumer VR platform that offers motion-control input at present – and the reasons behind Survios’ decision to launch on HTC Vive first.

“We are all about active VR gameplay,” states Liszt. “We want to do the kind of games that stand you up and you can use your whole body; be able to use your arms, be able to pull bows and arrows, be able to really invigorate your whole sense as well as your head and visual sensibilities. So we are looking at all the platforms that doe those kinds of things.”

Survios’ Raw Data will launch for HTC Vive, via Steam, on 14th July 2016. The full interview with Liszt follows below and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Raw Data and other VR titles from Survios.
