It has been anticipated since its Kickstarter campaign for SUPERHOT to acquire support for virtual reality (VR), and the wait has only been made to feel longer with its great success and lack of promise for the immediate development of the videogame. The SUPERHOT Team has now confirmed that the wait won’t go on for much longer, and has shared its latest updates in VR development.

The SUPERHOT studio has shared in its first developers blog that the team has been “trying to capatilize on all of the new design possibilities that Virtual Reality” is giving them, ncluding the types of sounds that can be utilised during gameplay to create the most amount of immersion for players, and to let players locate a passing bullet from the sounds it makes, therefore eliminating the problem of getting shot in the back: “The level of game immersion that you get from playing SUPERHOT in VR is simply crazy. We try to add as much as we can to that from us.”

The only problem that the team has encountered is more of a vanity point: “One problem we’re working on with SUPERHOT VR right now is that when you play it you sometimes look like that :)”, referring to the images pictures above.

The blog also stated that the title will be making its way over to VR “later this year”, but no further details have been given in terms of pricing. However, it can be confirmed that it will be an Oculus rift title as the developers have been “working super close with the guys at Oculus”, and the developers above are both wearing the head-mounted display (HMD).
