The San Francisco Virtual Reality (SFVR) meetup is one of the most popular VR-centric community shows running today. Organiser Matt Sonic – who very recently revealed his own VR title – has put on a number of events to showcase the latest VR titles, tech and more. The next SFVR show, however, won’t be like this. This time around Sonic has set up a workshop event that’s focusing on one of the most anticipated head-mounted displays (HMDs) on the way, the HTC Vive, and is getting help from HTC itself to run it.

The SFVR Workshop #1: HTC Vive will take place on 6th December 2015 at 12:00 PT, running until 17:00. The location for the show is yet to be revealed. Developers will be able to bring their own VR projects and show them to HTC, getting some advice on them. They’ll also have the chance to test out HTC Vive hardware, meet some of the team behind the device and other course talk with other VR developers that are also attending the event.

The event isn’t as open as usual, however. Places are strictly limited and so those hoping to go will need to apply for a spot. Tickets will cost $10 USD and applications will be to be in by 23:59 on 30th November. As you might expect, preference will be given to VR developers that have a project that could be ported to the HTC Vive in the future.

VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR events, reporting back with the latest updates on them.
