Saibot Studios, the Argentina-based indie developer working on horror title Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh has now announced the official launch date. The title is the third episode – the previous two were Doorways: Prelude and Doorways: The Underworld – and has been in Steam Early Access for about a year. Now it’ll see a full release on 10th August 2016.

VRFocus has been following the series for the last couple of years with virtual reality (VR) compatibility for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) running across the episodes. The latest announcement doesn’t currently mention if VR support for the Oculus Rift CV1 will be implemented but the studio has previously stated it’s commitment to the technology.

The studio has also confirmed in the announcement that the third and final act ‘The Temple’ will be released on the same day.

“After all these years of development work, devoting much effort and dedication, we can finally say we’ve concluded the Doorways series. We’re very pleased with the final result and we hope that both our faithful followers and newcomers to the series will be as excited as we are.” said Tobías Rusjan, creative director of Saibot Studios.

Players take on the role of Thomas Foster the main character from the series, as he heads to El Chacal, a small and remote village in the mountains of Salta, Argentina. He’s looking for Juan Torres, known as ‘The Roaster’, the leader of a family of lunatics who are the centre of weird rumours about cannibalism, black magic, cults and superstitions.

Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh can be download via Steam for £14.99 GBP/$19.99 USD. As VRFocus learns more about possible VR support we’ll update you accordingly.
