Valve’s videogame platform Steam features an almost daily amount of new virtual reality (VR) content for either HTC Vive or Oculus Rift head-mounted displays (HMD). This week there’s already been The Solus Project, House of the Dying Sun, Planet Fate and XCavalypse. Today a new ‘coming soon’ title has appeared on the listings for a VR story experience called Rexodus.

Created by Steelhouse Productions Rexodus: A VR Story Experience is based on the Dark Horse Graphic Novel Rexodus, set in a universe where dinosaurs didn’t go extinct, they left Earth.

64.9 million years ago dinosaurs ruled the Earth but they were far more advanced than humans could imagine. They used lava as a fuel source, allowing their civilization to flourish for millions of years. Then the Black Blood came to Earth consuming and controlling everything in its path. So the dinosaurs retreated, eventually leaving the planet. Now millions of years later humanity and dinosaurs meet as they rediscover planet Earth.

While Rexodus: A VR Story Experience will be supporting both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive through Steam, the experience has already been available for the Oculus Rift DK2 HMD for awhile. It originally launched on Oculus Share and can still be found as a free download on WEARVR.

Steelhouse Productions hasn’t yet stated what differences between the two versions, if any, there are, but as VRFocus gets further details we’ll keep you updated.
