Yesterday was due to be the release of Cherry Pop Games and Perilous Orbit’s virtual reality (VR) pool title Pool Nation VR. That hasn’t come to pass as a recent update on the videogames’ Steam page now indicates. In a posting the team announces a closed beta will be opening next week and that due to certain reasons Pool Nation VR has been delayed until June 2016.

In the posting for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) compatible title the studios say: “As you may know, the original plan was to ship April 28th, but with limited hardware and a small team we don’t feel like we’ve had enough time to test the multiplayer features and game flow at scale. The only way to do that is with a bunch of help from you all, so starting today we’re taking applications for a Closed Beta beginning later next week.”

The update goes on to say that the team is targeting late May for release, although the Steam page does list June 2016 currently. For HTC Vive owners that wish to signup to the closed beta head here to fill in your details.

Pool Nation VR isn’t all about playing pool. Set in a fully detailed bar, players will be able to interact with all sorts of objects lying around, setup trick shots, play virtual darts, smash bottles and play snooker.

VRFocus will bring you further details on Pool Nation VR as announcements are made.
