Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has been very forthcoming in showing the working software that their team at London Studio has been developing for the forthcoming PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD), however less so regarding the tools used to develop such experiences. Today however, London Studio itself has revealed that ‘Creator’, the team’s in-house development tool, has been used internally for 2 years.

Few details are available on the Creator tool, however the results of working with it can be seen in PlayStation VR technical demonstration software The Deep, VR Luge and both parts of The London Heist, Interrogation and The Getaway. The revelation that the tool is now 2 years old came via London Studio’s official Twitter account today: “Happy 2nd Birthday to ‘Creator’, the tool used to create our #PlayStationVR demos. What a crazy two years it’s been!”

There are a number of other PlayStation VR technical demonstrations that have been in development at London Studio, though which of these will ever be made public is not currently known. It is also rumoured that the team is evolving one or more of these technical demonstrations into a full consumer release title, and of course VRFocus will keep you updated with any further developments on that front.
