There have been plenty of new additions to the software library for Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE’s) PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) at the 2015 PlayStation Experience event today. A long list of new titles has been revealed including the likes of Job Simulator, Ace Combat 7 and Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. But there’s also been a small addition made to the hardware itself for the event. SCE has added new control buttons to the kit’s cable, the first pictures of which can now be seen below.

Several images or on display and, while it’s hard to work out the markings for each on-screen, they feature icons relating to volume control, a microphone input and a power button. These are all featured on the cable that leads into the kit’s additional power unit. It would appear, then, that players will be able to switch the HMD on and off, rather then it simply remaining powered on the entire time it’s plugged into a PlayStation 4. The other controls will also hopefully allow players to find a sweet spot for their respective areas without having to remove the device.

Despite the many announcements made for PlayStation VR today a price and release date for the kit are still to be revealed. The wide launch window of H1 2016 is still in place, meaning this long-anticipated information should arrive fairly early on in the new year.
