Although those from the UK could already order their Oculus Rift from the Oculus Store itself, it has now been announced that the Oculus Rift is officially launching in the UK, as well as the rest of Europe and Canada.

The whole of Europe and Canada will now be able to get their Oculus Rift from the shops from the 20th September. The selected UK retail partners that pre-orders can be made with are Amazon UK, John Lewis, Curry’s PC World, GAME Digital Plc, and Harrods.

In France the official retail partners are Amazon FR and FNAC; in Germany it is Amazon DE, MediaMarkt, and Saturn Germany; and in Canada it is Best Buy and Microsoft Store Online.

As well as the availability to pre-order from these retail partners, there will also be a chance to try out free demos across the UK, including demos of The Climb, Henry, Farlands, and Oculus Dreamdeck. To have a go on one of these demos, you will have to schedule it online on the Oculus website. However, the only demos currently available are in Germany right now, so keep an eye out on VRFocus and the map for upcoming chances.

The price that the Oculus Rift will be going at in these retail stores is £549 (GBP) – £20 more than what it costs to buy and ship it from the Oculus website itself.
