A couple of months ago VRFocus reported on graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA announcing in a press conference it would be launching its own virtual reality (VR) title VR Funhouse. A mini-game compilation, VR Funhouse has now arrived on Steam for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD).

Created by NVIDIA’s in-house development team LightSpeed Studios, the videogame features seven mini-games set inside a carnival. These include Mole Boxing, Whack-A-Mole, Balloon Knight, a shooting range with a pair of pistols for hitting targets or a skeet cannon for the moving targets, splattering clowns with squirt guns and a bow and flaming arrow for lighting up targets.

While a videogame at heart, VR Funhouse is a demonstration of NVIDIA’s latest technology such as NVIDIA FleX, NVIDIA Flow, NVIDIA HairWorks, NVIDIA PhysX Destruction and NVIDIA VRWorks’ Multi-Res Shading.

NVIDIA FleX is a detailed particle-based simulation system used to create the messy green goo in the Clown Painter level, and to add realistic pieces of cloth throughout the title. While NVIDIA Flow adds fluid simulation to confetti in the Balloon Knight level, and realistic fire effects in Fire Archer. NVIDIA HairWorks simulates and renders realistic hair and fur.

The company has also listed the system requirements for different quality levels.

Low Quality

GPU: GeForce GTX 980 Ti, TITAN X, 1060 or 1070

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790

Medium Quality

GPU: GeForce GTX 1080

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930

High Quality

GPU: A single Geforce GTX 1080, or a 2-Way GeForce GTX 1070, TITAN X or 980 Ti SLI setup

GPU PhysX: Also requires a GeForce GTX 980 Ti, or greater, to be dedicated as a PhysX GPU in the NVIDIA Control Panel

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930
