As things progress with the Oculus Rift and the Consumer Version (aka the CV1) comes closer and closer to shipping it is only natural that some aspects of what made up the Oculus culture change as part of the process. For those that regularly follow New To VR or the Oculus VR Share platform you may have noticed that new releases have rather slowed down in their release. However there are still plenty of titles we’ve not spotlighted and we’re going to do so with one of those remaining today.

Developed by Appnori and compatible with the Oculus Rift DK2 head mounted display (HMD), Baseball Kings VR places you in shoes of a batter as you take on everything that the opposition pitcher can, in every sense, throw at you. The aim of the game is simple, avoid the bad throws and get your timing right with the ball and your reticule in order to smash it out of the park for a home run – and set off possibly one of the most intense firework displays in videogame history.

Featuring a leader board and a realistic recreation of the stadium of the Texas Rangers, Baseball Kings VR is certainly the first baseball related experience to hit Oculus VR Share. Users wanting to try it will require a pre-0.6 SDK and minimum specs of either Windows 7 or 8. You can see the Baseball Kings VR in action in the gameplay video below.
