Welcome to 2016 and welcome back to VRFocus’s New To VR segment, a regular morning look every weekday at a virtual reality (VR) videogame, experience or project that has been recently released and that you could enjoy. For today we are forsaking our usual Oculus VR Share stomping ground for now and are heading on to steam for a VR videogame that is not just for the Oculus Rift but for the HTC Vive as well.

The videogame is Ruckus Ridge, a title that may well ring a bell with regular VRFocus readers as we reported on it around a month ago just when ot was entering into a Steam Greenlight campaign. Now the game has completed that campaign and been successfully greenlit.

In Ruckus Ridge three regular users take on one VR user, a 1-vs-3 couch multiplayer experience as the game describes it. It’s the task of the three non-VR users to sneak up on the VR user who is surrounded by a field of boxes. Disguised in a box themselves they must move forward without being spotted doing so or alternatively discovered through observation of the field around them. It is the job of the VR user from a first-person perspective to defend themselves and to shoot any suspect boxes.

Made by ForeignVR the game is due a Q1 2016 release with more information coming soon. For now you can find out more on the Steam page or official website.

New To VR Will be back tomorrow to spotlight another title.
